At the request of the "A Better Choice Committee," members of the Westchester/Putnam Central Labor Body set up an informational picket line at the Rye Town Hilton telling Governor Pataki to sign the bill developed by State Legislators. With only 24 hours notice, union members made a presence there and were covered by the local media. Among those in attendance were the painters (IUPATDC #21), CSEA (local 860), Yonkers teachers (AFT #860), Harrison teachers (AFT #2713), Bronxville teachers (AFT #4543), and Operating Engineers (100E #30).
