In an effort to join together with one voice local leaders met at the labor council on June 18, 2008  to share information and to learn from each other.  They highlighted the need for greater access to healthcare and the importance of purchasing and using fair trade products whether they be from abroad or from local merchants and markets.  Current immigration trends were discussed including some causes and suggestions for improving working conditions for all US residents.
